Building permits in the Town of Cinco Bayou are authorized by the Town and issued by Okaloosa County (Town Code Sec. 2-106); the County's Growth Management Department reviews, issues, and inspects them under the interlocal agreement cited in the Town's Land Development Code Sec. 3.04.00 and charges its countywide fee schedule (Resolution 17-102). Every permit first needs a Town of Cinco Bayou approval letter; any Town fee for that letter (under the Town's own permit fee schedule, taken up by the Town Council on August 13, 2026) or for sign permits is not published online and is not included in these estimates (Town Hall 850-833-3405). In Cinco Bayou, a building permit for a $50,000 remodel runs $333.38 in permit fees, a $20,000 re-roof $169.00, an HVAC change-out $124.00, an electrical panel upgrade or rewire $109.00, and a whole-house repipe $134.00. Totals include the documented surcharges and minimum fees; where the schedule prices by unit, figures assume a 3-ton system, 200 A service, and a 15-fixture scope. Each figure is that single permit only: a job that combines trades, like a kitchen remodel with electrical and plumbing work, pays each applicable permit.
