How the Fee Estimates Work
Pick your city or county, choose a trade (building, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or roofing), and enter your job value or unit count. The calculator applies the jurisdiction's own fee rules, valuation tables, surcharges, and minimum fees to produce an itemized estimate, the same math the fee schedule prints.
Every fee comes from the official city or county fee schedule and cites its source document, down to the page or section. We never estimate, interpolate, or extrapolate a fee: if a schedule documents fees only up to a certain job value, the calculator says so instead of guessing.
Jurisdictions are listed only after their full schedule has been captured from the official source and screened against benchmark scenarios. Read more about our methodology
