Daytona Beach Is Waiving Permit Fees Through September 10

The City of Daytona Beach is waiving permit and inspection fees for qualifying commercial and residential projects from March 19 through September 10, 2026, according to the city's own announcement. It is the sixth such waiver the city has run since 2020; the previous round, from September 2024 to March 2025, waived $3.5 million in fees across more than 2,000 projects by the city's count.

How broad is it? The city's notice covers "commercial and residential projects" and then describes eligible work with an illustrative list, not an exhaustive one: "Eligible projects include new construction, interior renovations, roof replacements and upgrades to electrical and fire suppression systems, as well as improvements such as fences, doors, windows, driveways and air conditioning units." The city publishes no exclusion list, but the "eligible projects" framing means eligibility is the city's determination, and the notice only addresses permit and inspection fees; it says nothing about other charges, such as impact fees. Applications go through the city's online permitting portal or the Permits and Licensing office.
