In Daytona Beach, a building permit for a $50,000 remodel runs $554.90 in permit fees, a re-roof $145.22, a $10,000 HVAC change-out $145.22, a $10,000 electrical panel upgrade or rewire $99.79, and a whole-house repipe $190.18. Totals include the documented surcharges and minimum fees; where the schedule prices by unit, figures assume a 2,000 sq ft (20-square) roof and a 15-fixture scope. Each figure is that single permit only: a job that combines trades, like a kitchen remodel with electrical and plumbing work, pays each applicable permit. Daytona Beach issues building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical and roofing permits through its Permits and Licensing Department at City Hall. The city uses the Intuitive Municipal Services (iMS) platform for online permit services, so most applications are submitted online after you register an account. The city also publishes a printable Building Permit Application covering electrical, mechanical, plumbing, gas and roofing work on the same form, which can be brought to the Permits and Licensing office in Room 127B at 301 S. Ridgewood Avenue. The application asks you to declare the value of work separately for building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical and roofing, and those declared values are what the fee schedule is calculated against. The city advises starting with zoning to confirm your project is allowed before you apply. Once your permit is issued, inspections run through the same iMS system.
