Milton, FL Permit Fees (2026)
Building permit fees and building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical/HVAC, and roofing permit fees for Milton, straight from the official fee schedule, with a free permit fee calculator below.
Building permits within Milton city limits are issued by the Santa Rosa County Building Department, not the City of Milton, per the city's own Unified Development Code (Table 3.2.1, Summary of Approval Authority), so Milton's building permit fees follow Santa Rosa County's fee schedule. The City of Milton separately charges its own review fees (Resolution 2025-19, Attachment E): its residential plan review ($8.00 per 100 sq ft of project area), commercial site plan review and commercial life safety plan review are included in estimates, while its concurrency, comprehensive plan and stormwater review fees are not. Santa Rosa County's $85 Site Permit, which the county charges on new homes, is included in estimates, but the city handles its own zoning approval, so ask Santa Rosa County Development Services whether it applies inside city limits. In Milton, a building permit for a $50,000 remodel runs $265.92 in permit fees, a $20,000 re-roof $190.28, a $10,000 HVAC change-out $106.00, a $10,000 electrical panel upgrade or rewire $106.00, and a whole-house repipe $139.50. Totals include the documented surcharges and minimum fees; where the schedule prices by unit, figures assume a 15-fixture scope. Each figure is that single permit only: a job that combines trades, like a kitchen remodel with electrical and plumbing work, pays each applicable permit.
