Fairchilds, TX Permit Fees (2026)

Building permit fees and building permit fees for Fairchilds, straight from the official fee schedule, with a free permit fee calculator below.

Fort Bend County's Engineering Department issues development permits in the Village of Fairchilds under a 2014 interlocal agreement that has permit fees paid directly to the county, and the county's 2024 flood regulations list the Village among the places they cover. The Village's own flood ordinance reaches only the floodplain, so ask the county whether a structure outside it needs the permit. A 2016 agreement lets the county Fire Marshal permit commercial buildings in the Village once it adopts the county fire code; that adoption is unconfirmed, so ask whether the Fire Marshal fees shown apply. See the Fort Bend County fee schedule

The Village of Fairchilds publishes no building, electrical, plumbing or mechanical permit fee. Fort Bend County issues development permits in the Village on the county's schedule: a flat development permit ($100, or $150 in a floodplain) for new structures of 400 square feet or more, floodplain work and similar development. The Village's own flood ordinance covers only the floodplain, so confirm with the county whether a structure outside it needs the permit. Fire Marshal fees on commercial, public and larger multifamily buildings apply only if the Village has adopted the county fire code. Work started without a permit is charged double. Village plat, plan review and public improvement inspection fees for subdivisions and site plans (Ordinance 2018-4) are separate.

How to Apply for a Permit in Fairchilds

Fort Bend County's Engineering Department issues development permits inside the Village of Fairchilds under an interlocal agreement. Apply online through the county's MyGovernmentOnline portal at mgoconnect.org (create an account, then a Residential or Commercial Development Permit application); a Residential Development Permit is required for any new structure on residential property, or addition to an existing structure, of 400 square feet or more, and work in the floodplain needs a permit too. New structures need a CenterPoint address verification letter, and an application includes a site plan, the recorded deed, a metes and bounds description for property outside a platted subdivision, septic design drawings where a septic system will serve the structure, and other agencies' permits. Commercial projects first get County Engineer approval of civil construction drawings. Fees are paid to the county, and work started before the permit is issued pays double. Applications, power release and inspection requests go to Permits@fbctx.gov or 281-633-7500. Plats, subdivision construction plans and site plans go to the Village of Fairchilds, which takes visits by appointment only: (346) 691-3720, mayor@fairchildstx.gov, P.O. Box 81, Needville, TX 77461.
