How to Apply for a Permit in Unincorporated Orange County

Orange County issues building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, roofing, and gas permits for unincorporated areas through the Division of Building Safety. Apply online through Fast Track, the county's permitting portal, at fasttrack.ocfl.net: register for a Member Services account, then submit the application, upload plans, pay fees, and track review. Each trade needs its own permit, so electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and roofing work is applied for separately from the building permit. The county publishes Fast Track training and video tutorials covering registration, the Notice of Commencement, scheduling inspections, and assigning contractors. In-person service is at the Orange County Administration Building, 1st Floor, 201 South Rosalind Avenue in Orlando, by appointment for informational visits. Inspections are scheduled and tracked in Fast Track using your permit number; remote video inspections are offered for some inspection types in 30 minute slots between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., and normal inspection hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. After hours and weekend inspections cost an additional fee: send the county's After Hours Inspection Request form to PermittingServices@ocfl.net, received and paid before 1 p.m. on the day of the inspection (before 1 p.m. Friday for a weekend inspection). For help with the portal, call the Fast Track help line at 407-836-8160.
